The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes

Widely panned, and fairly. A Clone Wars platformer aimed at younger players, with fixed cameras, repetitive combat, and unresponsive jumping. Review scores landed in the 40s. Local co-op is the only reason anyone finished it.

Playing it today

Republic Heroes is not worth tracking down. It was a weak Clone Wars tie-in in 2009, with fixed cameras, repetitive combat and loose jumping, and nothing about it has improved.

You also cannot buy it on PC any more. Steam delisted it on January 31, 2025; it depended on the long-retired Games for Windows Live, which is the likely reason. If you already own it on Steam, it still downloads, and PCGamingWiki notes it plays without a Live sign-in, minus achievements. Two players can play together on one screen; there has never been online play.

For Clone Wars action, play LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars instead, a good couch co-op game that is still sold on Steam and GOG. For a grown-up take on the war, Republic Commando is $9.99 on both stores.

Nothing sells it on PC any more. If you want Clone Wars action, LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars is $19.99 on Steam and GOG and a much better game.

It came out on PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PS2, PSP and DS. The Xbox 360 digital version was pulled in July 2024 and it is not backward compatible on Xbox One or Series; used discs are the only way in on console.
