LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens
One film stretched across a full game, with a new cover-shooting mechanic and multi-build puzzles that ask you to think. The best-playing LEGO Star Wars game before the Skywalker Saga, and the thinnest in content.

The Force Awakens is the LEGO Star Wars game to buy last. It plays well, with cover-based Blaster Battles and Multi-Build puzzles, and critics scored it 78. But it stretches one film across a whole game, sells the rest of the story back as DLC, and has the smallest Steam audience of the four LEGO Star Wars games there.
On PC it is Steam only, with no GOG version, and it is Steam Deck Verified. It runs at 60 frames per second with controller support, and two players can share a screen; there is no online co-op. The base game is $19.99, or $29.99 as the Deluxe Edition with the season pass.
Buy The Complete Saga or The Skywalker Saga first. Pick this one up on a deep discount once you have finished those, or if your kids specifically want Rey, Finn and BB-8.
