Star Wars: Bounty Hunter

Jango Fett's origin story as a third-person shooter, with a jetpack and a scanner that pays better for bringing targets in alive. Stiff in places, and the tone is exactly right. Aspyr's 2024 remaster brought it to every current platform with updated visuals and controls. It is a light touch-up rather than a rebuild, and it is the practical way to play now.

Playing it today

Worth playing if you want Jango Fett's story and can live with 2002 design. Aspyr's remaster is the version to get: it is built from the GameCube source code, runs at modern resolutions, moves aiming and firing onto the triggers, and keeps the original layout as an option. Critics settled in the mid sixties (64 on Metacritic for PC), and Steam players are kinder at 79 percent positive.

What Aspyr did not change is the game underneath. The jetpack is fun, the bounty scanner is a smart idea, and the levels still throw difficulty spikes and repetitive fights at you that were rough in 2002. Treat it as a polish job on the 2002 game.

On PC it needs nothing extra, and it runs well on Steam Deck by player reports. Skip it if clunky third-person shooting ruins a game for you; play it if you have wanted to hunt as Jango since the prequels came out.
