Jaxxon landed on the holotable on September 22, 2026, a six-foot green rabbit with two blasters and a Territory Battles omicron. He exists because a Marvel writer looked at the cantina scene in 1977 and thought of Porky Pig, and he is still around because a small, stubborn group of fans and writers refused to let Lucasfilm forget him. This is the fifth entry in Holotable Files, after Stormtrooper (Concept).

Past that it was packs: 1,299 crystals for a five-shard floor, 12,990 for the "Epic Surge" pull, and cash bundles from $29.99 for 30 shards to $99.99 for 130. He goes farmable in December 2026, accelerated around August 2027 (unit page).
  • Built to work with: Dash Rendar in the lead and any Lando Calrissian next to him. Half the kit checks for Prepared, and the other half checks for Lando.
  • Required for: Darth Jar Jar's Journey Guide, every tier, at seven stars. Keep that in mind before you decide he is a joke unit.

Where he comes from

Jaxxon first showed up in Star Wars #8, the Marvel comic that hit stands in November 1977, written by Roy Thomas and drawn by Howard Chaykin, the same team that had just finished adapting the film (StarWars.com). Once the adaptation ran out, Thomas needed original stories, and he was working under a short leash: no Vader, no Clone Wars, no Luke-and-Leia romance (Wikipedia). So he wrote a Seven Samurai riff. Han and Chewie hire a band of misfits on a backwater called Aduba-3 to protect farmers from a warlord named Serji-X Arrogantus, and one of the misfits is a tall green rabbit in a red flight suit who flies a ship called the Rabbit's Foot and says "Holy Hutch!" (Wookieepedia, Legends).

Thomas has been open about where the idea came from. One of the cantina aliens, he said, reminded him of Porky Pig, "which sparked me to create the green rabbit." The rabbit was explicitly Bugs Bunny, down to the name: Bugs called strangers "Jackson" in his 1940s shorts. Jaxxon introduces himself in the comic as "a meat-eatin', rocket-riding rabbit," which is about as subtle as the era got (StarWars.com).

George Lucas did not find it funny. Lucasfilm's Lippincott passed the word to Thomas that Lucas disliked the character, and that friction, plus the franchise's fast-hardening "sacred cow" status, is part of why Thomas left the book. Archie Goodwin took over with #11 (Wikipedia). According to Thomas, Lucas "hated" Jaxxon, and when Goodwin used him again Lucasfilm told Goodwin never to bring back the "green bunny." Goodwin got in one last wink: the bounty hunters chasing Jaxxon in #16 are named Dafi and Fud (Wookieepedia, Legends).

After a cameo in the book's 1986 finale he went unreferenced for two decades. The Expanded Universe treated him as the punchline for everything embarrassing about the Marvel run. Star Wars Insider ranked his debut among the five goofiest moments in EU history, and fans compared him to Jar Jar Binks more than once. The people who liked him were mostly writers: Pablo Hidalgo, later Lucasfilm's continuity keeper, co-wrote the 2001 Star Wars Gamer article that finally gave Jaxxon a species, the Lepi, and a homeworld (Wookieepedia, Legends).

The Legends reclassification in 2014 should have been the end. Instead it was the reset. Marvel put him on a launch-party variant cover of the 2015 Star Wars #1 (StarWars.com), and Cavan Scott, who had lobbied for him from the day he was hired on Adventures, made it official: "The Lost Eggs of Livorno" in IDW's Star Wars Adventures Annual 2018, drawn by Alain Mauricet, is Jaxxon's first canon appearance (Wookieepedia, canon). Scott kept going. He gave Jaxxon a full name, Jaxxon T. Tumperakki, in a short story for From a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back (2020), and wrote him a Dark Horse one-shot, Hyperspace Stories Annual: Jaxxon 2023, with a Mike Mignola cover (StarWars.com). On September 19, 2025, Ben Schwartz voiced him in LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past, his first time on a screen (StarWars.com).

The kit, decoded

Ability text is quoted from the official reveal. Every name is a rabbit joke, and every effect is about Prepared, the Scoundrel buff Dash Rendar hands out at the start of battle.

  • Blaster's Up, Doc (basic): "Deal Physical damage to target enemy twice and inflict Vulnerable for 1 turn. Prepared: Jaxxon attacks again, and if it is his turn, all Prepared allies gain 25% Turn Meter for each attack." The design notes clarify that "attacks again" means the whole attack repeats, so a Prepared Jaxxon lands four hits and feeds his team up to 100% Turn Meter off a basic. That is the entire reason to own him.
  • Hop 'Til You Drop (special, 3-turn cooldown): "Deal Physical damage to target enemy and inflict Off Balance for 2 turns. Prepared: Stun target enemy for 1 turn." Off Balance bleeds 10% Health and Turn Meter on every hit, and he hits four times a turn.
  • Fluffle Shuffle (special, 4-turn cooldown): an AoE that deals 10% more damage per Prepared ally, or 20% against a Dark Side leader. He then has a 25% chance to follow up with his basic, "If any version of Lando Calrissian is an active ally, this chance becomes 100%." Prepared makes it uncounterable and unevadable. A fluffle is a group of rabbits. They were committed.
  • Starship Down (unique, zeta and omicron): +20% Critical Chance and Max Health and +20 Speed on his own; with a Lando present, both of them gain 50% Critical Chance, Critical Damage and Max Health, and Lando's specials dispel and heal the whole team. He cheats death once with a Stealth and a full heal, and in an all-Scoundrel squad each crit stacks Critical Damage up to 200%. The omicron is the Territory Battles piece: +50% Health, Protection and Speed for Scoundrels, self-refreshing Prepared, a bonus turn every encounter, and "Enemies defeated by Scoundrel allies can't be revived." Capital Games' own notes call it "basically an 'I win button' for easy clears in Combat Missions." The name reads to us as the Rabbit's Foot going down by way of Watership Down, and it is the best pun in the kit.

Do you need him?

If you already run Dash Rendar's Prepared Scoundrels (Dash, Young Lando, L3-37, Vandor Chewbacca), Jaxxon is the missing fifth: the Turn Meter engine on his basic and the Lando heal-and-dispel fix that squad's two weaknesses, tempo and sustain. The community guide from swtorstrategies lands in the same place we do: the omicron earns its price once the other four are geared, and "even a green space rabbit cannot carry four unfinished characters through modern Territory Battles." We agree, and would add that without a Lando the unique loses its best lines.

Then there is the line that changes the math for everyone else: Darth Jar Jar requires Jaxxon at seven stars for every tier of his Journey Guide (unit page). If you want that character, you are farming this one whatever you think of him; the only question is when.

Our answer is the same as it was for Mara Jade: December. The farm node is about three months out, the packs sell a five-shard floor for 1,299 crystals, and nothing in the kit expires. Spend on the marquee only if your guild needs the omicron for a Territory Battle this month.

And read Star Wars #8. It is a strange, cheerful comic made by people who had no idea what Star Wars was going to become, and Jaxxon is the clearest surviving proof. The character Lucas told Marvel to bury now has a marquee, and the comparison that used to be an insult is a Journey Guide requirement. Jar Jar needs the rabbit.
