Lucasfilm Games put the Knights of the Old Republic remake and Star Wars Eclipse in its 2026 sizzle reel on Saturday, which settles the question that comes back every few months: officially, neither game is cancelled. Neither showed anything new, either. The KOTOR remake appears as the hooded Revan and red lightsaber from its September 2021 teaser, and Eclipse gets a few seconds from its December 2021 reveal. No date, no window, no platform news.

Lucasfilm Games 2026 Sizzle. Eclipse appears around 1:15, the KOTOR remake at 1:24.

Why it matters

A spot in a publisher reel is about the cheapest sign of life a game can get. It tells you the project is still on the lineup, and the choice of footage tells you how much there is to show. Five years after both reveals, Lucasfilm reached for the originals. TheGamer, which compared them, calls it "the exact same footage" for both games.

For the KOTOR remake, that leaves July's news where it was: a Saber Interactive executive's deleted "hopefully 2028," and an insider's claim of a re-reveal before the end of 2026, with December's Game Awards the likeliest stage. Saturday's reel confirms neither. One is still an informal comment and the other is still a rumor.

For Eclipse, it is the second Lucasfilm showing in a month, after D23 on August 14, and it followed the same pattern: back on screen, nothing new to say. That is at a studio whose workers struck over layoffs in June.

If you have been holding off on KOTOR until the remake arrives, stop waiting. Nothing on Saturday suggests it is close, and the 2003 original still holds up.

The details
