Star Wars Battlefront (2015)

Battlefront (2015) still plays online, and it is still not the DICE Battlefront to buy. Battlefront II (2017) does everything this one does and adds a campaign, more eras and a far bigger crowd.

The servers are EA's, and EA has not announced a shutdown. On Steam, our tracker's busiest reading in its last week of counts, to September 20, was 78 players, spread across every mode. On PC it runs through the EA app even when bought on Steam; Steam Deck players report it works (ProtonDB Gold) with the same launcher step. The Ultimate Edition is the only version sold, so the Outer Rim, Bespin, Death Star and Scarif expansions all come included. Split-screen co-op missions exist only on PS4 and Xbox One.

If you have EA Play or Game Pass Ultimate, it is worth an evening for Hoth and Endor, which still look superb. Skip it if you want a full lobby on a weeknight.
